StarWars Day!

Star Wars has played a significant role in our fight against cancer. I remember watching the movies over and over, sleeping on Star Wars sheets, and even creating Star Wars-themed foods to help us get through the difficult times. It was a way for us to connect with something we loved and feel a sense of normalcy during a time when everything else seemed uncertain.

Now, as a part of Sheets From Home, I am proud to be a part of this organization that provides new and fun bed sheets to pediatric oncology patients. The goal is to help ease the pain and make the children feel at home while undergoing treatments in the hospital. We believe that by transforming their hospital rooms with fun and colorful bed sheets that feel more like home, we can bring smiles to children fighting cancer.

I know firsthand how much of a difference these sheets can make. When my son was undergoing cancer treatments, I saw how much the simple act of having fun and colorful sheets on his bed transformed his hospital room and lifted his spirits. That's why I started Sheets From Home to provide these sheets to as many children as possible.

For the children who receive these sheets, it's a small but significant reminder that they are not alone in their fight against cancer. The sheets help to create a sense of normalcy and comfort in an otherwise unfamiliar and often scary environment. And for the families of these children, it's a sign that there are people out there who care and want to help.

Sheets From Home has partnered with Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, where today we will provide Star Wars themed sheets to all the kids admitted to the hospital. It's a full circle moment for me, who once found comfort in Star Wars during my own son's battle with cancer, to now be able to give back and bring smiles to other children fighting the same battle.

The power of a small act of kindness cannot be overstated. Something as simple as new and fun bed sheets can make a world of difference to a child undergoing cancer treatments in the hospital. Sheets From Home is a shining example of how one person's experience with Star Wars has turned into a way to give back and help others in their fight against cancer. And as a member of Sheets From Home, I am proud to be a part of this mission to bring smiles to children fighting cancer, one bed sheet at a time.
